Adidas Samba Golf – SoleCollector.com

With more than 35 million pairs sold, the adidas Samba is one of the most popular casual sneakers on the market. Originally introduced in 1950, the Samba was created for the purpose of allowing soccer players to train on hard, icy ground and later evolved into an indoor soccer shoe. Since then, the classic style and comfortable fit of the model has helped it transform into a modern-day essential, worn by virtually everyone at any time and place. Now, for the first time, the classic Samba can be worn on the golf course with the introduction of the Samba Golf Shoe.

“Samba has been widely loved around the world for decades,” said Bill Price, Vice President of adidas Golf Footwear. “It’s time to bring its timeless styling to the golf course.”

The Samba Golf Shoe maintains the shoe’s classic silhouette and 3-Stripe design, while featuring a durable, suede toe-guard and distinctive tan gum sole equipped with six cleats and ThinTech low-profile technology for improved traction, stability and support. The textile, synthetic-leather upper is water-resistant and provides lightweight, durable performance.

Offered in medium width, the Samba Golf Shoe will initially drop in three colorways: Black/White /Gum, White/Black/Gum, and Satellite/White/Gum. Each will be available at retailers on March 1, 2012 at a price of $100 USD. Red/White/Gum will be released on May 1, 2012.

Ronnie Fieg x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Salmon Toe” – SoleCollector.com

Source: SoleCollector.com

Last spring, footwear designer Ronnie Fieg held a giveaway on his Twitter account in which he gave away an unreleased 1-of-1 ASICS GEL-Lyte III sample dubbed the “Salmon Toes.” As the nickname suggested, the shoe featured a mostly navy blue upper with white Arch branding and a salmon-colored toebox. Premium materials such as high grade nubuck, leather and pigskin were used for the shoe’s construction. Since that giveaway, Fieg has been bombarded with requests from ASICS enthusiasts to send the shoe to production…and it looks like he listened.

A teaser video shared by Ronnie earlier today seemingly breaks the news of an actual “Salmon Toe” release. No exact details were given, but they appear to be “Coming Soon.” Check out the clip below and stick with Sole Collector for updates.
